Less than 1 year and already Whirlpool Side x Side Problem

It isn't major (I think). Yesterday, I went to change from cubed ice to crushed, but it kept giving me cubed even though crushed was selected. I also noticed something changed on the panel. Usually, what happens is during inactivity, the entire panel goes dark as normal, but now the cubed ice icon stays on all the time. If you press the panel to get it to display all icons, it shows the ice is currently set to crushed and the fridge freezer temps... but that pic where you see just the cubed ice icon, that stays on constantly. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do before calling whirlpool? The ice maker is working fine, temps are fine, it dispenses cubed ice perfectly. It's like the computer is stuck. I tried unplugging the fridge for 3 min's then plugging back in.....but nothing.

If it is under warranty

Make it Whirlpool's problem, not yours. Yes, it may take them a few days to get to you but you at least still have a functioning ice maker. None of them seem to work very well these days. I have to totally defrost my Samsung icemaker every 4-6 weeks as ice builds up from frost and closes off the cold air duct that freezers the ice mold. Then no ice until I defrost it completely.
