Let's Discuss... Rice Krispie Treats

Ugh, I may need to make a pan of RCTs this weekend, just reading this thread is making my mouth water.

There's a local grocery store chain that sells 9x9 pans of peanut butter RCTs, covered in chocolate. They are h-e-a-v-e-n.

I saw this recipe on Facebook, and tried it - they were pretty good.

Cake Batter Rice Krispy Treats
3 Tbsp butter
1 (10 oz) bag of mini marshmallows
1/4 C yellow cake mix (dry, not prepared into batter)
6 C Rice Krispies

Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, adding in cake mix, one spoonful at a time so it's combined. Stir in cereal, form into pan and let set. Sprinkle with cake sprinkles if desired.

What a very interesting post. I'm sure if I was watching a triple-G movie at a Mormon Temple munching popcorn balls and drinking punch I still would have found a way to get in trouble and be sent home. I was good at it. I am going to make some of these Rice Krispie Treats. I haven't eaten one in years. Unfortunately I'm sure they won't have a positive effect on my A1c. Cool too how members have put their stamp on the original recipe and "embellished" it.

My mom used to make these rather often, but my sister was much more fond of them than I was. She still makes them sometimes, and the last I had were when I was at her house a couple years ago.

I like the Cocoa Crispies w/ peanut butter version, and also with Fruity Pebbles.  Soooo sinfully good!

My nan used to make these, she would add a bag of toffees into the pan and melt it along with the butter/marshmallows. Then pour it over and mix together!

Was delicious!
