Yesterday I was washing a load of new towels, I put them on Cottons 60, it deicided to do 3 rinses as it was a bigger load but not full capacity.
It said it will take 1 hour and 38 minutes, when it got to 1 hour the heating phase had finished and the recirculation spray started. What I did was put in the service mode and the temperature read out was 47 degrees cecius.

Interesting thread guys. I have the LG WD14060SD6. 10 kg capacity with steam wash. I have been suspicious for some time now that it is not heating the water correct temp. It is hot and cold fill but it is hooked up to cold faucet only. Today I did a 40c wash with a fairly full load set to cotton wash. Half way thru I opened the door and the water was only tepid, I would say not much above 30C. The results are pretty good so not complaining but a little miffed it lies and doesn't wash at the set temp. I also note that the recirculation only works when the tub is turning, it stops when the tub stops.
I am pretty pleased with the machine though.

I checked the temp myself...
The older Hoover (Nextra 2004) heats the water to the correct temperature, as I checked the temperature myself. As for the new Hoover (Dynamic - bought last Xmas), on some programs, it won't be able to reach the set temperature if the user does not follow the loading guidelines, this is because it has a smaller heating element (1500W as opposed to 2250w of the other Hoover) and it needs a certain amount of time to heat the water. E.g. there's a program called A59' which is a rapid cycle designed for medium loads, this is supposed to bring the temperature up to 60 degrees providing that the load does not exceed half of the washer capacity.
I used it with a biggish load and I found that the washer disregarded the bigger size of the load and after its set wash time drained the main wash water regardless of the temperature it'd reached (this was only around 50). This cycle is also present in the older Hoover and no matter how full the washer is it always manages to reach 60 degrees in its allocated 38 minutes. The manual in the newr Hoover, states that the actual temperatures might not always correspond the temperature declared by the program. Having said that, there's an option called 'Stain Blaster' that is supposed to heat the water to the declared temperature and keep it there by switching the heater on and off as necessary.
Have you perused your LG manual from top to bottom? You might find that this behaviour is similarly described black and white ;-)

did you check to see if your washer as an atc water temp system for 1 thing and second try running your machine on a full cycle with no clothes to see if it will heat the water to said temp and depending on the cycle use some washers send cold water in the washer to avoid the damage of fabrics.

This is the load from 2 days ago which I wrote about in my last post.

Yesterday I decided to do a load of whites on Cottons 60. I used the 'intensive' option. From what I see it heated the water pretty much to the temperature selected. The cycle duration was 2:13.
1) At 1:39 it finished heating and the shower spray came on.
2) I stopped the machine and put it in service mode and the temperature read out was 56 degrees celcius.
I will try Cottons 40 with steam and see what happens. From my findings so far I think if you use the 'intensive' option it heats fully and heats to a lower temperature on standard washes. Would love to hear what the 2 guys have to say tomorrow.

from what i am seeing i think that your washer as the atc function and it might affect the heating performance or your washer is hot and cold fill and what cycle do you use normaly? normal/casual gentle or have you tough that it might be a defect in your washer.
what i would suggest you try is
1 start your washer with no clothes the temp you use for a normal load and let it run a full cycle after the heating part of your cycle i would suggest you stop and open your washer door and check the water tempature with a termomiter if it reads your reg temp then its not your washer water heater or it might be that the washer as a sensor that check if fabric can stand hot water as sometime the washer might send cold water to cool down the heated water to preven damage of fabric.

Pierre, the European LGs (as with most of our washers) are cold fill only and heat their own water.

Hold in the right option button and rinse botton together and then press power. Don't press the start button as it'll start service cycle and with clothes in it will damage the machine/s.

Not yet, did 2 loads today and they needed a 60 wash so maybe tomorrow after work. I'll let you know how it goes.

well had two service guys today new board still the same! cottons 40 heats to 24 on the plus side mix is working again lol oh and 95 so they have to report back and head office will contact me again! spent all afternoon doing a email to which and watchdog.

Are you using steam wash with all the washes?
The washes I did that I took pictures of and posted in above posts were standard non steam washes.
I did a cottons 40 with steam but had to pop out so will try do another tomorrow.
This must be frustrating, wonder what LG, Which and Watchdog have to say.
