I don't know if this has been discussed here before but has anyone seen the new (new to me) suspension system on the LG front load washers?
This is for model LG F1443KDS.

Are these washers even in the USA?

In the Youtube video provided at (time) 2:45 they show the new suspension.
It looks pretty cool and seems like an innovative design.

Although I'm not a huge LG fan, this washer (over all) does look interesting.

Has anyone experienced this washer or the suspension system shown in the video?

Does this new suspension make a difference?

11KG LG

I have one of theas machines, its totaly silent it spins upto 1400rpm and if you listen you can just hear it.

If I was picking flys its too fussy with smaller lodes it will mess about balancing it for ages before it makes its mide up about spinning.

its amazing how much you can get in it.

Had it repaird 3 times because it kept thinking it was a small load when it was fully loded turned out they had had a bad bach of computer bords.

Also

It's 240v a cotton 95c wash fully loded takes about 2 hours but the average full 40c wash is about 1hour 35 mins, inluding 3 rinses and spin each time. I suppose its the time heating the water as its cold fill only.
Its rare to get hot fill machines here.

Thank you drummybear...

I figured it wasn't designed for the USA...(by the way they stated the 11kg wash load).

The fussiness with going into the spin cylce would drive me nuts.

here in SA we have the 11kg under counter in normal and steam....and i SERIOUSLY want 1!!! they are just a little bit out of budget. R10000 which is 1000 pounds. what is your review on it, brummybear?

fussy FL's

The best way to stop the fussyness of spinning is not to use FL's for too small a load, The 5kg ones just spin but above 7kg its fuss fuss fuss. This is exspesialy true of the 1600rpm machines as an unbalanced lode would shake the machine to bits very quikly.

A good tip I discoverd is if you finde the machine fussing switch it off and on and select just spin only this seems to work for the LG and she is a fussy cow at times.

LG 11kg review

If you live in a house with 6 other people who all seem to live in the bathroom and have clean clothes on every 20 mins then this is the machine for you.

The build quality is generaly very good, it waighs a tonne. Knobs and buttons seem good and solid and responsive.

There are 3 king size beds and I can get all the covers and pillow cases of two of them in in one go ( 2x kigsize duvet covers 12 pillow cases and two king size flat sheets )

The oh god wash at 60c can take upto 3 hours and that includes washing, 4 rinces and spin and a final spin at 1400rpm.
However pressing the time save button ruduces it to 2 hours !

A 40c standard wash full is about 1hr 30.

It has a 60c 1 hr wash 2 rices and spin which dose a very good job.

The medic rince for people with alergys adds an hour to everything ( not nessisary in this house)

I like the spray it dose while it washes and rinces, it dose this because the drum is tilted backwards and with so littel water that it uses it makes shure everything is thoroughly soked.

The tumble action is exselent you are in no boubt things are getting a good scrub,it also spins intermitantly throughout the wash cycle. ( not on delicateas)

Generaly I would buy another one.

One thing that is just super great about my little Creda Eco-Wash SupaSpeed 1000 is the spin sequence. Once it balances, it goes into the intermediate spin. This spins all kinds of water out of the load and it makes the door glass look like the backside of a waterfall. Then it slows to the distribution speed which is fast enough to keep the load plastered to the drum while it pumps out all of that water. After the water is gone, it goes back into the intermediate spin speed. There is not any of this fussing around trying to balance a second time. Unfortunately, the machine has no way of correcting an unbalance situation that develops during the distribution and if it can't balance, it just does not spin. If the power is switched off and then back on, it will restart start the distribution phase and will often have success.

Distribution was the maddening thing about the Duet. It would often balance for its first attempt at spinning, but then ramped up and spun the water out so quickly that the puny pump was overwhelmed and it would stop spinning to drain the water. When it tried to distribute for its next attempt at spinning, it always had trouble, big load or small. I think the Creda's way of keeping the drum turning fast enough so that the load stays distributed is far smarter when it has to interrupt the spin to drain the water.

LG review

we are a family of 4 doing washing every wednesday, saturday and sunday. our 13kg samsung top load is brilliant but thr drum on the LG is a bit bigger. i like the intensive 60 wash as most machines take atleast 10.5hrs on a 60C wash. i am able to put a king size extra length duvet cover and sheet, queen sheet, single duvet cover, double duvet cover and sheet and 12 pillow cases in 1 load. unfortunatly the king size extra length duvet just fits but i can wash the single and double together. when i wash linen i use the blanket cycle but adjust it to a 30min wash, 2 rinses and a 5min spin. that takes 1:15.
i agree with you on the quietness. i buy and sell and at 1 stage we had an 8.5kg LG washer/dryer and that DD is super quiet on the 1400 spin.
as the samsung is only 2 yrs old, I think i'll wait untill i'm out of the house untill i get 1. only 3 more yrs as i finish school in 2013.
thanks for the review!
now if only there was a matching dryer, hehe :)
i dont think the 9kg dryer would be a good match for that 11kg beast

11kg dryer

Funny but I forgot to consider the dryer size when I brough the LG 11kg machine. Fortunatly I have 2 dryers as the dryers only hold 9kg.

dryer

hahaha not too sure hey. do you want to import whirlpool heavy duty? with the exchange rate it'll probable work out cheaper than from the States. the dryer costs about R3800 brand new which is 380 pounds then you just add the shipping charges. should be worth your while :)

Heavy Duty Dryers

I got my Whirlpool US dryer from Ebay its brilliant can hold enough washing from 7.5 kg Hotpoint dries quicky and removes lots or creases only downside is it won't fit under a work surface..!

Interesting

The video looks interesting but I doubt seriously that I will ever be able to buy another LG product.

Hey Malcolm..

I hate to tread jack, but what was your own experience with the LG appliances you once owned?

I have some friends with a Middle of the Line LG Washer/Dryer set. My only beef with their set when I borrowed it to wash a few comforters (Since they wouldn't fit in my old top loader) was that a Sanitize cycle took 2.5 hours and that setting the dryer on high heat scorched one of my comforters. (Maybe a good thing, just user error on my part.)

Just curious...

My Samsung's fussiness about balancing for spin DOES "direct-drive me" NUCKIN' FUTS! Sometimes(rarely, though) it doesn't even spin at all at the end of a cycle! If it's any comfort, my Electrolux I-Touch I had for only a month was even worse! That's one reason why I sent it back out of despair!
