Hello to all!

Sadly it has come time to for me pass on the machines in my collection for others to enjoy.  The reason is I am retiring (I still can't believe it!) at the end of THIS month, then approximately 6 months later, I will be selling the house and moving.  Unfortunately I cannot take all of the machines with me, there just won't me enough room.  I may be able to take 2 or 3, but that's it.

I am hoping some of you will be able to take advantage of Justin's generous offer to transport machines, as he will be here in Los Angeles on the 19th of this month!  https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?96820_3~1

OK So.... for those who don't know, I am in the Los Angeles area and if you have any SERIOUS interest in any of the machines I will be listing, use the AW messaging system OR email me: [email protected]

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">FIRST UP </span>

This pair of 1948-1950(?) coin-op, bolt down Westinghouse Laundromats!  The all blue one on the left is FULLY FUNCTIONAL!  Drop a quarter in the slot, turn the knob and it starts!  The one on the right does not function.  The left one has the black-speckle interior, the right one is the blue speckle interior.  I would prefer they both go together.  Price: $200 for BOTH.

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">NEXT UP</span>

A PINK 1964 Westinghouse washer and GAS dryer (first year)!  The washer has a door that swings to the side rather than drops down, like the majority of the newer models.  They are stacked, but can be put side by side, but I do not have the top panel for the washer.  Also missing is the lower front panel for the dryer, though my understanding is the lower dryer panel from a newer model will fit.  When I brought them home, the washer would start and go through the cycle (meaning the timer motor is good).  As you can see they do need restoration, hoses, tub boot for the washer and obviously, paint.  I am quite surprised that even being inside a garage, the paint is still fading.

PS.  I have more photos from when I brought them home.

PS #2 This dryer door with the "window" is not original, it was "made"for a photo shoot.  I have the original dryer door.

A 1971/70 ('71) Maytag HA806 washer & 220V ('70) HDE806 dryer!  The washer: the tub damper and damper pads have been replaced, along with new bearings and tub seal, the belts and hoses (inside) too.   It does need new motor glides and springs.

The dryer: has been completely disassembled, cleaned, lubed, new drum felt installed and new belts.  Unfortunately there are a couple chips / chunks in the porcelain on top, it was this way when I got them.

PRICE: $100 for the pair.

Next up...

Lots of Miele's: All washers & dryers require 220V.  All work as they are supposed to, except as noted

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">PRICE: ALL ARE FREE!</span>

W1926 washer and T1526 vented dryer BOTH are 220V.  Washer can heat wash water to 190F!

W1986 washer and T1526 vented dryer.  Washer works, but needs the heating element replaced.

W1213 washer and T1413 vented dryer, both work great.

I also have other newer models, email me with interest or any questions: [email protected]

Stole? How can somebody be so narcissistic come up with something rude and untrue like that?

Sure, I can imagine Kevin wearing a ski mask and breaking into somebody's house and stealing such lightweight pair. Sure, I'm being sarcastic, although some people don't deserve even the 20 seconds of my life that I wasted typing this.

@Maytag 85, I second what you said.

Isn't it strange that dozens of people (if not over a hundred) considering only the people here at AWO trust Kevin and never had a single droplet to say negatively about him. Kevin is my best friend for 10 years, he knows my deepest secrets, I trust him so much he has my home key, his voice deactivates my alarm system, he knows even how to unlock my phone. Actually, if I hit the panic button either at home or on my phone of if I yell "Alexa, emergency, call for help", Kevin's phone will be the first to be called, even before 911.

Kevin saved my ass a zillion times, from lending me his Le Creuset to using his truck to pick up appliances for me to bring me food in the middle of the night when I was in the hospital because of a stroke.

When I arrived in the US and finally rented my house, guess who gave me my first fridge and my first dishwasher.

In August 2023 I had an embarrassing situation at a dealer because of a communication issue with my boss, guess who jumped in out of nowhere and saved the day. Yep, Kevin. He didn't have to do that, he did it because that's who Kevin is.

Some months ago, Darryl and I were having a crisis in our marriage. Kevin jumped in and saved my marriage.

@wigwag, think a million times and wash your dirty mouth with lye soap and gasoline before you open it to talk about ANY of my friends. Be a man, honor the balls you have between your legs. I'm a pacifist and I pay to not enter a fight, but if I come to the point I enter it, nobody can pull me out. If you want, I can give you my address and we can solve it like real men, but be aware the last time I had to use my fist, the other person needed facial reconstruction surgeries.

You got your 3 minutes of fame, but you didn't consider the fact EVERYBODY knows the truth for many years.
Kevin is such a fantastic person that I fell in depression when he told me he's moving. I'm buying things from his house just to preserve thousands of happy moments we had together so every day I can look at items in each room in my house and remember my friend that was always there for me and now will be thousands of miles away. If I had a million dollars in my bank account right now, I wouldn't think twice before buying his house and moving there so he and his husband could "literally feel at home" when they travel to los angeles to visit. It's not only beautifully designed and well maintained, but that house also has an amazing "vibe" because Kevin and his husband live there.

Now please, wigwag, go back to the septic tank you should've never been pumped out.

Back to our normal programming after this unwanted interrupt

I add to the list of items available my Speed Queen Ultra Mate stacked washer-dryer.

For those that don't remember, the Ultra-mate is that model that has a top load washer that tilts forward.

It's in very good cosmetic condition, natural gas dryer works beautifully washer needs some transmission work. It works but it's leaking oil.

Price for AWO members: ZERO dollars (Kevin may charge some gas money to move it from my house to his for pickup.

I also add to the list a 1960s Ge Mobile Maid top load dishwasher. It works flawlessly, it has a brand new fill valve. Control panel needs reprinting because the previous owner was stupid anough to clean it with brillo pad and now it's just a clear stainless steel panel with ZERO indicators.

Oh, it needs some cleaning.
I love that dishwasher and I would never get rid of it but I need to make room for some washers that I bought from Kevin.

Dishwasher price for AWO members: $30, (what I spent picking it up really far and the new valve) plus whatever amount kevin charges to move it from my house to his for easier pickup.

Curious

I. Just genuinely curious why the frigidaire unimatic is so sought after? It's a handsome machine for sure but they seem to be the holy grail of vintage machines. Why is that? Did they not make that many of them?
