I have a collection of Electroluxes from between 1953 to 1978 ( will post later on when I've taken digital pics). I had always been told about Canadian Electroluxes, that they looked like ours only laid on their sides. I finally got one!

It seems to be coming with everything including the PN. I'm terribly excited about this. Do you have any of the earlier red model? When I was younger I had dreams about Eluxes in weird colors like red and green and, voila, there they all are up in Canada. From the looks of the instruction manuals, the Canadian models were always better designed and equipped than ours. Interesting how American Electrolux designers finally figured out that if you lower their centers of gravity(by turning them on their sides as with the Canadian models) they would tip over less(pain in the ass common to these beautiful machines). Hence the genesis of the 1205. I will scan my Canadian instruction manual when I have time. If you know of any sources to buy parts for the Canadian models I would be much obliged.

I also have the above red model 88. Surprisingly I had a visit last week from Doug in Moose Jaw and he brought me the missing attachments, the holder and instruction book for it. So it's pretty much complete now.
He has a large collection of vacs and quite possibly extra parts if you want to email him.
Here's the website of his collection with US and Canadian eluxs plus many others.

Great catch!!!

I've always liked those Canadian Luxes. Living so close to the Ontario border you would think I have lots of them, but nope. Got to get across that Rainbow Bridge more often.

I have a model 89, but its just the body. I'd like to get a hose or at least the machine end of a hose so I can at least try it.

Great catch from ebay. Hope you enjoy it!

Joe
