It works fine, except it has bad bearings. Does anyone know the manufacture date? I junked my first Neptune because of this, back when Maytag were themselves. Now that Whirlpool has swallowed up Maytag, is it worth repairing/keeping?

A commercial Neppie! I think I have the programming manual for that. You can program it to do all sorts of things. This is a Pre Whirpool unit and parts are still quite available. As there was a TON of these in commercial service, those parts should be findable too. Did you get the whole smash including coin box/keys or is it missing parts? How about a pic?

Bearings.

There is a way to replace the bearing on this without replacing the whole tub. I don't know how, but I think it's been discussed before and there may be something on Youtube.

MT NEPTUNE BEARINGS

You can replace the bearings on any MT built Neptune FL washer if you order the parts from a commercial model. In fact if you try to replace the whole tub and bearing assembly its just not worth the cost.The parts alone will cost over $400.

Pictures coming right up.... I think it is a commercial OPL version. I don't have the key, and I am missing the back. I had the owner of a local repair shop/appliance store hold it for me and I begged them NOT to cut any wires if they were going to remove any parts. It was finally released to me Monday of this week. They told me that it came from an animal shelter. I ran it for one cycle and it sounds like a turbine on spin. I'm thinking it has bad bearings. I'm not a Maytag expert, and up until now I hated these machines.

Waiting in line... It looks like a machine that is to the point, not the curvy Whirlpool-like console. It has a nice looking VFD in the center. The more I look at it, the more I start to like it. Maybe it should get a second chance, it's not everyday that a commercial Neptune ends up near by and not sent back to the place where it was bought/leased.
