lookee what showed up again in DENVER....PINK GE WASHER & DRYER

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'd doubt that anyone has ever sold a set like this for $7500 to $8000 dollars. The seller simply lied in an effort to make a buyer feel better about spending $4000(wow, what a deal!) The best way to deal with people like this is either to ignore them completely or politely tell them the truth about the machines value and move along.

I have to disagree with Mark from Arizona as well. The attitudes of the vast majority towards vintage washers and dryers isn't likely to change any time soon, and especially not due to the poor reliability of certain modern machines. After all, if the modern machine needs so much maintenance, just imagine the headaches an older one will cause. Washers and dryers from the 60's and 70's are simply regarded as junk by most, and even if they're in good working order at the time, the next breakdown isn't likely far away - and where will the parts come from to fix it? The ability(and the patience) to track down those parts is not all that common, and patience is needed in spades for many machines. So no, I don't expect to see a jump in vintage washer and dryer prices in the coming months or even years. Sellers like this are just random outliers and don't reflect reality.

wow

what a stunner....well, at least we finally have pics....we're probably gonna see it on ebay when it doesn't sell locally

1963 TOL GE W&D Pair

They are surly in good shape, but they would have to be NIB for them to get close to their asking price, let them put them on Ebay with a starting price around $800 and see where they go.

I agree with David, as cool as these machines are there is no way even the cheapest washer and dryer today will not outlast a 50 YO washer and dryer before you have problems with this set. Having been in the appliance business for over 40 years we are not seeing people looking for older machines very often because the new ones are not holding up well, as I have said many times we are having fewer problems with the W&Ds we are selling in recent years compared to what we sold in the 70s and 80s.

justify my love...

Hey guys maybe I live in a different world…The cheapest quote for shipping a westinghouse washer from upstate ny to arizona was 2000 dollars with the proper packaging and hauling it from a flight of stairs and i would have had a broken boot and the tub would have flown around and dented the sides…with hotels and gas at $2.40 a gallon it cost me about 3500 to drive back and pick it up..and i ate good now gas is probably $3.00 a gallon…I would think closer to 4………even with insurance who wants money i wanted a washer….vintage appliances are the best …just some of us half to work harder for what we want…. Also I dont have forever and i Want certain things……I used to collect people that was really expensive…haha… Im starting to like these G Eees …….
