Looking for a new car!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Shane--- you should look at a Subaru before you decide on anything. I wanted the Jeep Grand Cherokee to when I was shopping, but to get it equipped at well as my L.L. Bean, it was WAY to expensive. They also have the B9 Tribecca, if you want more of a SUV.

Dave--- the Volvo is my ex's. 2002 AWD S60, also a VERY nice car. Volvo has THE most comfortable seats I've ever seen. BUT, the car is plagued with some nasty blind spots. I also have to say that my Subaru has a better ride, but all in all, the S60 is a very nice car.

Again with the Volvos!

Jim, why do all of your photos have Volvos in the background? This time it's a 740. My 240 has the best visibility of any car I have ever driven. I just don't understand the new designs, all for aesthetics to the detriment of functionality. I'm sorry your car gave its life to save yours, but at least you can get another Subaru just like your old one, much harder to do with people.

Accidents! almost like that happened to my Concorde before I got the 300M... I have been to 4 dealers and no one is willing to really work with me... I have negative equity, and not one dealer is willing to help AT ALL... Best deal so far is 3600 down and 520 a month... not what I really want to spend... So I need to sell my car... Its for sale if anyone wants it! LOL

But this is what happened to my Concorde:

Toyota

For what this is worth, my 1994 Camry has 235,000 miles on it, mostly city, not highway miles, and it has had virtually no repairs. I have always changed the oil every 3K miles, the other fluids when recommended, and the timing belt every 60 or 70K. It still had the original belts and hoses at 200,000 miles, and the dealer told me there was no reason to replace them, but I did anyway. I still have the original clutch!!! The original brake pads lasted 205,000 miles. The only repairs have been: one CV joint boot at 105,000 mi., and then at 205,000 miles, brake pads, a radiator and the other CV joint boot. That's it. It still does not have any rust whatsoever.

I'll be buying another Toyota if this one ever wears out.

I drive a 204 Mazda tribute, it already has 60K miles on it and we have only replaced the battery and the brake pads. I usually drive all my cars 200K miles and this one will most likely make it too. Even at 60K it still drives like a new car. When I am ready to replace it, I would probably buy another Tribute. It really has a lot of power to it and handles more like a car than a SUV. We use it to haul our dogs around in.
Hint, if you are tired of the disc brake dust on your front wheels go to ceramic pads at your next brake job. They cost a little more, but are virtually dust less! I went with slotted rotors and ceramic pads on the Tribute and the stopping distance is greatly reduced and I don't have to clean those damn rims every week!

Whirlcool-
Mazda Tribute is a Rebadged Escape.. There will be no more Tributes made after the 2006 year is used up (i think)

Actually while the Tribute is based on the Escape, it does have some differences such as steering and engine. I think the Escapes have about 160HP under the hood while the Tribute is 200HP. Plus the finish and interiors are much more upscale than the Escape is.
I hadn't heard that they were going to discontinue them. I wonder that Mazda will replace it with? They no longer produce pickups here in the US.

WHirlcool-
Same engine- 3.0 Duratech V6/4-speed automatic 200 HP for both.. Axtually a taurus/sable power train
Tributes have better shcoks and springs
Unsure of replacement for it.. I am thinking the new SUV
