I've had a Magimix 5200 for almost 4 years now. I use it every other day and its never missed a beat. It's very heavy, but unbeleivabley quiet.

The 4200 appears on Ebay.co.uk for 169 pounds. Just outside your budget, but a heck of a lot cheaper than the $850 I paid for mine here.

Very quiet and solid machines, attachments are easy to fit, the storage container is good, when you put the bowl in the dishwasher it doesnt have any crevices that collect grit.

It comes with 3 bowls, Mini, Grating, chopping/dough and they all stack together when not in use. It should come with a Dough blade, Chopping Blade, Blade for the mini bowl, 2 grating and slicing disks and a whisk.

And the best part is, they're still made in France rather than China.

I've had a couple of magimix's over the years and can't fault them. If mine went wrong tomorrow I'd by another straight away.

I got a Kenwood multipro 735 and I'm very pleased with it. It's quite strong and powerful and I even use to mix the dough for egg pasta or bread, up to 600 g of flour at a time, for a 120€ food processor it's quite good. Also it has a million of accessories, even a fruit juicer and orange juicer. Plus egg beater, 4 kinds of blades, big and small bowl, mixing bowl, mincer and blender... I might be missing something, oh and spares are cheap!

We had a Robot Coupe for years. The motor was so strong that you could actually feel a little kick when you hit the on switch! Did a nice job overall.

A few years ago for Christmas, Rich got me a Kitchen Aid that came with a large and small bowl, different blades, et cetera. It's nice and powerful, and it hasn't failed on anything I've asked it to do! The link below is one I just found that gives several reviews for my model.

I agree with Lawrence.

Hmm, since you already have all the other parts, maybe it would be worth it to look for a used one? Or one which someone got as a present, but never used?

Food processors tend to be something you either really use a lot or not at all.
