Looking for a parts diagram for Whirlpool LP15501W0

Hey gang,
I was wondering if anyone has a parts diagram for a Whirlpool gas dryer model LP1550 (LP15501W0) It is is of the older style which had the separate motor pulley and belt for the blower and had a "control box" to the left w/ a shorter decorative console along the rest with no controls in it. If there is no parts diagram for that model in particular, maybe a model number for one of those older style dryers that can still be accessed on one of the major parts supplier websites. I'm getting ready to list a tote of parts for it, and though many of the parts are labeled with the FSP part number, many of the panels and clips are not, so any dryer that would have had used those same parts would be fine.

1966 WP Gas Dryer

Hi John, I am not sure what your question is about this dryer, Any WP parts distributor still has a parts list for this dryer, however very few parts are still available, maybe the drum belt.

Ahh, perfect, thank you very much for the scan, and for pointing out the error I had made in regards to the model number.

In order to answer the question posed by combo52, I like to include as much part number information in the listings, (especially for vintage appliances), so that the listings might be findable by people searching for them in the future. Because I'm creating online listings, I do it from a laptop computer, and it helps a great deal to have the parts diagrams available at my finger tips for reference, instead of calling in to the distributor and asking for part number information on any given number of items (39 in this case)
I attempted a search for LP15501W0 (and LPI5501W0) and didn't turn up any parts diagrams available online.

Also, now that I'm checking again, I couldn't help but notice the Kirby collection on the shelf against the wall. I earned a silver K for selling 12 of them and then quit after I sold my 13th. I have an old brochure you might be interested in, an internal motivational publication or two from the 50's. On top of that, I will let you know when the listings are live so you can see them.

LPI5501WO Whirlpool Gas Dryer

The I in the model # is for electric ignition, if there was a G in place of the I it would be a gas dryer with a constant burning pilot.

 

Probably 95% of all gas dryers WP ever built had electric ignition, but WP  started to build gas dryers that had constant burning pilots so gas utility companies would sell there dryers because of the greatly increased use of gas.

 

Appliance manufacturers and gas and electric utilities all tried to get American housewife's to buy clothes dryers throughout the 50s into the 80s to sell more appliances and more gas and electric.With gas dryers that had a constant burning pilot the gas utility only had to get the housewife to buy a dryer, never mind if she still hung the clothes out on the line to dry, her new dryer was burning gas guaranteeing the gas company more sales of gas every year.

 

This competition to sell more power continued till the energy crisis of the 70s at which time the Nation and the world started to look at energy very differently.

 

 

With climate change now happening much faster than predicted with much more severe consequences than projected just a few years ago this energy discussion and policy changes are just getting started.
