Hey all.

Right now my dream vacuum is a hoover heavy duty commercial model 912/913/918 styled machines. These were the armoured convertible machines that weighed a gaud awful amount.

OR a model 800/825/900/925. Also my other dream machine. :)

I am willing to trade something, or two for one! (must be in ok condition, and runs)

Here is what I have to trade- kirby d80 is not available for trading!-

-1919 hoover 102- fab shape for its age and runs like a dream
-1926 Hoover 700- RARE ebony insert handle grip and H shaped switch.
-1929 hoover 575- have all the original parts, but in poor looking condition but also runs very well.
-1945 hoover 28- Excellent condition with minimal scratches on base (most not visible) and small crack in hood. Runs very smooth. Refurbed a few years back
-1950 Hoover 29. All original I believe except the bag. Great condition
-1940ish GE AVF804 upright in original condition
-1965ish Convertible commercial models 344 (2 of them, one restored)
-Circa 1990 Hoover powermax upright self propelled.
-TWO electroluxs. Model L and 1205.

Thanks all. :)

The incredible

Model 925, thanks to Jack, for the beautiful picture of, my personal belief, the finest looking hoover ever built. :)

Years

They were made from I think around 1949 to around 1990ish or so. A very long life.

They are probably the hardest hoover to use other than the 1908 model O. :)

But they are neat looking. Almost completely unchanged since 1949. A larger bumper added, and the light taken out later on.

I think what interests me the most is their eere appearance.

Check these pics out! These are actual pictures of an old closed asylum.

This is the pic that the fellow above's brother sent me!

Im so excited! It looks like it will clean up very well!

Not sure on the model yet. But maybe a 913, or 918 I assume.

Interesting!

Thank you for that link! FANTASTIC! Now I know how to operate my hoover! lol.

So you are saying that the late 913s had a black hood/top of base when it transitioned into the 918?

The picture from that ad seems relatively newer, yet it retains the old silver top of the base. Interesting...

PS, your 913 is beautiful!

More pics.

Base of the machine.

I wonder why they put that scuff plate thing there. Seems kinda useless except for scratching floors!

Notice the beater bar is really clean! I am sure some steel wool will clean the rust off.

'I wonder why they put that scuff plate thing there.&#39

So people moving the cleaner from room to room on its rear wheels wouldn't damage delicate flooring with the two pointed projections at either end of the chassis. Also helps project the rear-underside of the bag in the same circumstances.

MINE!

YAY! I am going to get the hoover!

I'm super excited.

My moms going to paypal him the money for shipping on monday. I cant wait!

$36.12 of pure awesomeness!

I am going to see if Odowds can hook me up with a new old stock bag. Otherwise my black 91 to fit hoover bag will work perfectly on it.

What are you going to do with it?

Convert it to a mini robotic controled Sherman tank,
let it run free in the neighborhood to terrorize and shoot down four year olds riding their bikes?

Hey, why not. Have some fun. don't worry about fatalities.

Nope!

:P

Im going to steel wool the base of the machine and screws to clean it up.

Then my version of the spa treatment. Tear it down a bit. Clean it up. Wash it. Touch up with paint. Lub wheels and BR. Fit the bag and stuff.

And clean!

That sounds good.
And I hope you didn't take my remark as derogatory.

I was just building on your creepy looking and heavy to push comments.

I hope you get it and enjoy it (and there is minimal casualties involved) ;o)

I know

;)

I love tanks. For the life of me I cant remember where it was but I think it was in Indiana. On the way home from Cincinnati we stopped at a guys farm who ran a museum.

A tank museum mostly! Out of his nice huge barn, he had several tanks from different armies mostly from the world war two era. A fantastic collection of fine restored tanks. And armored vehicles.

He also had a few old airplanes, Vietnam era helicopter, and some other really really neat stuff.

Also somewhere on the east coast (bad at locations!) We visited a tank graveyard. Dozens and dozens of old untretored tanks sitting in row after row in a field of some base. Really cool. My grandfather and I probably spent 3-4 hours walking around.

My grandfather has been studying the topic of war his whole life. He was a plane mechanic in the 60s working for the air force and TWA. His dad was a TWA pilot.

He is an absolute genius when it comes to talking about ANY battle. ANY gun. ANY tank, ANY airplane. Just everything he can give you a book definition, and the triumphs and trials of it!

Its official

My mom has paypaled the money. The vacuum has been shipped out.

Should be pretty darn soon and I will have it! :D
