Looks like Electrolux is the one getting GE.

While this makes me grind my teeth, it's perfectly legal and a classic example of the market doing what it does. Good luck to the 12,000 GE employees and to Louisville, KY, which will undoubtedly lose its relatively new GE plant.

hello to all i rwead the news that electrolux bough ge but i do hope they decide to keep this particular desing in top load washers and dryer with the ge name and agitator models

Relatively new is right!

Look how quickly GE was quickly re-establishing its major plant at Appliance Plant in Louisville...

 

Now, even quicker to see "Appliance Park" move somewhere else, and probably be called "something else"...

 

What's sad are the many job that were promised to be created, lost again... More displaced workers a'comin'!!!!

Wait and See...

While I am not too happy about these events, I'll take a wait and see attitude towards them. Perhaps it will surprise us and work out better.

What sort of patents come along with this deal that Elux might leverage?

I'm interested to see where the GE line will fall. Electrolux will undoubtedly remain the high-end brand. Wonder whether Frigidaire or GE will wind up as the budget brand.

Does Electrolux even know how to make and maintain a top loader?  Maybe they do and I've just never seen one.  Not sure I can count on them even keep them around.

Lets hope the Electrolux takeover of the GE appliance Division will be good-that the jobs in Appliance Park will be preserved-We can hope it will be like TTI in the vacuum cleaners-they are expanding a factory in(Oreck) Louisianna and adding 200 jobs-moving production from China and Mexico to the US.
