It must be the day for it. I just tried to rip out a seam in a shirt I'm sewing and I just ripped a huge hole in the back fabric. Why did I have to rip the seam? I sewed the yoke on before completing a critical piece of the construction. Luckily I have enough fabric for another back piece and yoke. Give it a bit of time and then jump back on the machine. That's one of those classic things that most sewers will do from time to time.

Tom-

I do not sew, but I do cook, and am considered to be better than ok at it.

However, that does not mean I cooked well right from the start; I most certainly did not.

To be good at any craft, or art, or anything, it takes practise. Maya Angelou said something along the line of (not verbaitm, but close-) "Practice is never easy and seldom beautiful."

As others have suggested, take a few days away, and come back to it.
