Loss of a beloved appliance

Sadly our Panasonic FlashXpress toaster oven is now toast itself. It appears the bottom light tube has burned out and it's not really worth the time and expense to replace it knowing the upper ones may be soon to go as well.

I bought it around 12 years ago for my mom to replace her previous toaster oven which had broken. She really liked this particular quirky oven because it made excellent toast fast and it cooked other things well too without having to preheat etc. She used it almost exclusivly rather than her big oven. I claimed it when she had to move into long term care and we'd been using it a couple of times a day for the last two years.

But fear not for us for we shall have toast again soon as I ordered a replacement and with any luck it will be here by Weds if not sooner.

We had one of those in an office I worked in

They do a great job on toast. I've never seen them in the stores. I'm going to look online now.

Hard to find in stores

Yeah, not that they were ever that noticeable they were out there back then and disappeared for a few years and the brought back. The only place I saw them was Best Buy and now on Amazon. Most people it seems who want a toaster oven these days are actually buying "counter top ovens" that take up a lot of space, this is sort of a happy in between.
