Gosh, to me (with UK eyes) that new bottle looks more old fashioned than the predecessor....I don't know if it's the font or the colours, it looks decidedly vintage to me!

Remarks About Downy.com and Ultra Downy

I recently bought a couple of gallon jugs of this "Ultra" Downy. The bottle is the same size as before, but with a funky looking lid with three flower peddle like things with a knob in the center. Once again, the Downy.com Web site has been updated, but the continuously looped loud new age style background music makes it impossible for me, as a blind computer user, running a screen reader program, to read what's inside. Therefore, P&G will get a piece of my mind. The company needs to review its Web accessibility standards.--Laundry Shark

it smells way bad

I bought the April Fresh version when it first hit the shelves. I've tried cutting it down with Downy Free and no matter how much I add the scent is just too overwhelming. Until someone at P&G realizes that not everyone wants to smell so loudly I am sticking with Downy Free.

I bought the Downy April Fresh and the Tahitian Waterfall one as well and I thought that the scents were a tad strong too. Glad its not just me. I think what P&G is doing is going head to head with that Mexican stench that Colgate is pushing..Suavatel. They should leave well enough alone. I called Colgate to see if they would ever market Fleecy and they told me that it was only a Canadian product. To me that stuff smells a hell of alot better..more of a clean smell I think.

I remember when they came out with Ultra Downy and we bought the huge April Fresh bottle from Costco about 4 years ago. I thought it smelled nice at first, but it got way to strong and repulsive as we kept using it. I switched to the huge bottle of non-concentrated Fleecy from Costco last year, but even that is getting repulsive now. I like the smell of citrus, so I might try the Febreze version soon.

LoL... We are using ickky dryer sheets right now, but soon enough another downy ball is in order and some inexpensive pink stuff will be bought or something with a mild odor.
