Lubricating the pressure switch on 68 Kenmore washer

On Saturday, I set my 68 Kenmore 800 washer and went about my weekend chores.  I went outside about an hour later to see water pouring out of my garage.  After drying our the place, I figured out the water pressure valve had caught itself in reset and that's what caused the over fill.  What can I use to lubricate the switch? Thanks.

Use a drop of light oil on the pivot and a tiny smear of grease on the cam, the adjustment lever should move easily and not stay in the reset position, but in any case you should be sure that it never stays in the reset position.
