Maytag 2-cycle motored washer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Charlie,
Yes, I am very interested in more info on the BK bags. I would love to see how they do in my Sani-Clean.
I addressed the exhaust issue on the Sani clean by fitting a 6" automobile buffer bonnet over the exhaust end. I had originally tried 9" but it was too large, so here's one time 6" is better than 9"!
I am very happy with my Sani Clean, its one of the best canisters I have ever used!

air-way Charlie: I too LOVE the Kirby "Allergen Filters" Filtrete bags-Absolutely amazing.Would love to try those Air-Tec bags in my Air-Ways.Will have to order some.Riccar also uses the Filtrete style bags in their machines-In my Riccar Radiance-I ran the bag until it was PACKED-and it was still trying to pick up.The "push-Pull" action of the motors and fans in the Radiance really compact the debris into the bag. The Riccar canisters also use Filtrete style bags. Would love to see them for Tri-Star-Compact machines as well.Yes--I would like to hear about if the Maytag gas washer engine is fixed speed(like many lawnmower motors these days from Tecumseh and B&S)or if it could be varied.that would be so cool if you could vary the speed-also- Is there a shot of the washer running with water in it-would like to see the splash. In the electric one I have(E2) it can make quite a splash.I would love to have one of those Easy Spinner TT machines. The Spiralator looks like it could generate some real turbilence as well.

Tri-Star bags and others

Tolivac,

You can get a wonderful bag for Tri-Stars made by Environpure through ESSCO or HESCO. When Tania got the newest model from Stan as a birthday gift, (I think it is a Mg-1), she immediately put in one of the Environpure bags that I got for her last year for her other Tri-Stars/Compacts. The filtration is much better than the genuine Tri-Star bags and the price is much lower. We were blown away by what came out of the carpet and she is a festidious houskeeper.

Also, I will find out from Stan about the motor speeds of the Maytag. It may take a while so bear with me.

You can contact Air-Tec directly at 978-343-9872 and visit their website at www.Air-Tec.com. The price sheet I have only has the bag prices by the case as they want me to become a BK dealer. If you contact them directly, they will be able to give you the retail price for a 8-pack of bags.

Jeff, I will bring you a bag when I see you later this month at Fred's. I will also bring the BK literature for you to look at and you will see the differences with the BK vacuum versus the Sani-Clean/New Century.

What do you think of the Hoover M bag as an air diffuser?

air-waycharlie: I was selling Tri-Stars for a little while with a good friend who is the local Tri-Star dealer-we would give our demos in two parts-George would show some things-and me the other. We were selling the Mg1 machines like what you just got. I have used the Environpure bags-they are great-and as you say better than the factory TriStar bags.We have even sold them!George would get good deals on those.I made a demo when the woman loved the machine so much just be seeing me unpack the machine from the box---she was writing a check!she was also a former TriStar owner.I like the older exhaust filters better-The "pignose" ones rather than the 'Lux style filter they are using now.the only disadvantage of the pignose is that it pops off as the machine is run or bumpted into something. In my demos-pet owners LOVE the TriStar--it just gobbles up pethair and comes back for more!!One lady had a Hoover Windtunnel Bagless-we showed the TriStar to her and she was amazed at the cat hair she picked up-she owned 3 cats. She bought the machine and traded in the Windtunnel-that was so dusty and dirty had to wrap the Windtunnel in a trash bag as we put it in the car.TriStars and Kirbys are my all time favorites.I use them as a team and the do some serious dust bunny hunting!

MG-1

I always thought Tri-Star/Compact were good vacuums but I was never too crazy about their power nozzles even when Electrolux bought the company.

Now that they have that new helix brushroll, I am very impressed. I know what you mean about the old filters that would break off all the time. I would retrofit a charcoal type filter under the broken off plastic housing and advise customers not to replace the big "wheel" filter. Since it was post motor I thought with either piece of charcoal filter of a cut piece of HEPA material it would be fine screwed under the plastic base.

I do like the new charcoal filter and the snap on HEPA filter under the metal cover. And, having the cord winder flanges on the bottom is handy. If I could find a Mg-1 on ebay for $200 including shipping, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Glad you like the Environpure bags. It is great to see instantly what you cleaned up and they are relatively inexpensive to change often if you are inclined to do so.

Thanks for the info Charlie, and in advance for the bag!
You'll have to show me how you installed the M bag on the Saniclean.

Decorum and Demeanor

Yes, Fred does require us to be quite tony when we play in St. Charles, (see photos in earlier link), but here you see what happens later in the evening when inhibitions are lowered.

I can't wait till our next get together in about two weeks!

Well!!!!!!

I wonder why I have not seen this picture before!?!?! See what goes on in my living room when I am not watching? Why don't they let me in on the fun as well? Hopefully the neighbors weren't watching. Charlie was also seen throwing things out of the window of the limo on the way home.

Oh crap! Will we be needing formal attire in a couple of weeks? If so, I'd better break out that Featherweight now! I can whip up something fabulous with the old bedroom drapes, you'd be surprised what you can 'remodel' with a ruffle attachment!

BTW, will we have time to see this exhibit? ;-)

Greg My Friend

If that exhibit is still at the Museum of Science and Industry, you and I will be down there in a flash. I am surprised that after all of the goofiness shown here, you are still interested in coming to our gathering. Shows a great deal of character. You must email me about what you want to see in Chicago. No firm agenda yet, but you can count on seeing a great deal of unusual vacuums. I can't guarantee anything else. No formal affair this trip, so bring whatever attire you feel comfortable with. Looking forward to it!

Oy......

Jeff,

This was the most vanilla of the pictures. You notice there is no nudity, no bare body parts, no inappropriate touching, etc.

Please don't tell me you are now going to be the, "Carrie Nation", of moral turpitude. Remember, I still have lots of pictures.................
