Costa Mesa is so close, BUT I need another 806 (or ANY washer) like I need another hole in my head!
Besides I couldn't go get it anyway, the clutch slave cylinder in my truck went out last weekend AND I have to pull the transmission out to change it! Another one of Fords BETTER ideas.....

Eh, just pull over fill up the master cyl every few clutch pumps

Gm did/does it too. Thankfully, Honda and Toyota have external slave cylinders that are ridiculously easy to change. I recently threw some DOT3 in the trunk of the Honda for the day it decides to crap out on me.

This afternoon I figured "what the hell" and called about the 806 in Costa Mesa... the guy said it was sold. I thought "Oh well, that's probably a good thing."
But then.......
I called an older retired appliance repair man I know who still repairs and sells machines out of his garage to stay busy (83 yrs old and still going strong!). We talked about a few things and then he said "Hey, I have a machine you might like.... it's a Maytag with a lighted control panel..."
He told it's not his, another guy he knows that does the same thing bought it and brought it to him (they've talked about me wanting lighted panel machines). I WILL BET YOU ANYTHING, that is the SAME 806 that was listed on Craigs list.... because my friend said "he paid $20 for it".

Clutch Issues
You know it's funny, I just bought an old used GMC Sonoma from a farm, and it's been great for moving. Well mine is the 1st year of the damned internal slave cylinder and after a 250 mile round trip to get the Easy, today at lunch it dumped all of the brake fluid on the ground. I don't know what I'm going to do, but it's interesting that this has happened to others. I can't even get to the bleeder to try and get the air out of it. You actually have to separate the transmission from the engine, AHH! My trusty old Chevette and Festiva are very simple cable designs that I wouldn't trade for anything. My Festiva was actually my compact washer hauler until I got the Sonoma, you would not beleive what all will fit in that thing (1981 Lady K Portable) and at 45mpg, it's pretty awesome.
