Hi,

I have a leak from the hose that goes under the lid assembly and connects to the water diffuser that sprays water into the tub. Could anybody help with a part diagram for this washer or with a part number for this? Does anybody know if this part matches a similar part from a newer machine? Maytag does not support this model, of course.

Thank you,

SD

There are multiple places for potential leaks in the area you describe. Reply with the part# of the component (top half of page) from the diagram that is leaking and we'll be able to help you narrow it down.

Maytag A108 washer leak

Thanks for your response. The hose that leaks does not seem to be in this part diagram. It is the hose that leads to the tub. The mixture of cold and hot water comes from it and flows into the washing tub. The leak is just where the hose gets into its hole in the washing tub. The rubber is old and lost its elasticity so the water pressure and vibrations make the hose come out just a little bit out of its hole. The amount of water leaking is not too much but it definitely cannot be ignored. I'm not sure whether there should be a device designed to keep that hose in place.

I think the hose you are referring to is the 2-13013 hose. The hose gets cut off in the pic, but it attaches to the water valve nipple. There should be a clamp present at both ends of the hose.

Many thanks to everybody for your help. It is 2-13055. I opened the washer again and it is leaking from there. It is only leaking when rinsing, due to the vibration of the spinning. qsd-dan, the parts diagram was great. DADoES thanks for the correction. combo52, 2-13016 will be the first suspect next time there is a leaks. You guys put Maytag to shame. I called them and after waiting for 30 min on the phone they told me they can't help me with anything, not a part number, not a diagram, nothing. It's a shame they won't support these things anymore, the quality with which they built them 30 years ago it's just amazing.

I already got one on eBay. It should get here in a couple of days. Many thanks, again.
