Maytag A210

I never thought I'd be interested in a "newer" style Maytag automatic (November 1980), but this washer was in the basement of the house my partner and I just bought and are going to tear down and rebuild. I was set to get rid of it, but looked a little more closely and found that with a little elbow grease (it was pretty gross), this machine would look really good again and ran really nicely. Maybe not too interesting to anyone on here, but I was kind of tickled to get the thing looking nice and clean again! I'll have to do some final detailing, but it's looking pretty good now. Guess we'll have to store it and put it in my new laundry room. It's my first "vintage-ish" automatic! If anyone knows of a turquoise fabric softener cup that's available, please let me know.

Do you just need the fabric softener cup or the entire lint filter with softener cup?

Just the cup...the lint filter is just fine. It drives me crazy to have something not complete...rare on this site, I know...

Any of the "10" series dryers could be a match for this machine. They were all "big load" dryers with various levels of features.

Same vintage as my LA511 and DE410. They have run perfect for going on 29 years. Any DE or DG dryer with the *10 should match as long as it has the "warm walnut" control panel. That 210 is a standard capacity deluxe Fabric-Matic according to my original old Maytag brochure. It may be a "newer" style, but it is a real Maytag.

While we're on the subject here -

Was the luscious A810 made as an A812?

In other words, did this model survive into the brown-button era?

Thanks for any info - 10 and 12 Series info is much harder to come by than 8 Series', for some reason!

Maytag "Warm Walnut Backguard"

I sold many of these machines and this was about the time Maytag introduced ranges after their Hardwick purchase. We could never understand the "brown glass look" which they had on their ranges when everything else in the marketplace was black glass.

One thing

I like about it, is that its just vintage enough to have a hot wash, warm rinse setting!
A fiend of mine has one of these, and its still running beautifully.
