I recently got my hands on a maytag a50 paired with a Hoover portadryer. The a50 is a 1970. Was working beautifully but all the sudden the impellers stopped turning during a wash cycle. Still can here motor running. Any thoughts? And where to get parts for these things? Cool machine.!

Broken Wash Belt
Take the back off and check it out. The belts are NLA but there are companies that custom make these urethane type belts.

Poly Crap!
I have an intact belt that broke at the "weld" on my A-50. Oddly these usually harden up and become brittle, breaking into little pieces. I will check my belt and get some dimensions, it would be nice to source a replacement. I got my belt about 5 years ago and I'm convinced it was one of the last new Maycor belts in existance then so finding one now might indeed be difficult. Very fun little machines when they're up and running though.
