Maytag Dishwasher to go

Well it's time to replace the Tag. The timer got stuck last night and ran the dry cycle all night. Can't take the chance of this happening again and don't have time to fix. Model#
WU490. Was wondering if anyone was interested in taking this to fix or use as a donor machine. Can hold it for a few days in the garage. This is from about 1980-83. This is the old style reverse racks. Machine ran great till last night, I would imagine it is the timer. Well off to shop for a new one this morning.

I have a 'Tag like that in my kitchen now and I have convinced hubby to keep it - If I were just a bit closer, I'd be loading it into my station wagon for sure!!
It would great to have a parts machine... SIGH!

do you not realize....

...that you will spend a whole lot of money on a new crappy one, that will only last about 5 to 7 years? If you have to wait for a delivery man to deliver a new one, why don't you wait for the repair man to fix yours and keep a GREAT machine? Just tell the repair man that you'll supply the timer as I'm sure there are still timers for those machines available. Mark

Hey Mark!
Thanks for the suggestion on the dishwasher, but I am putting my house on the market for sale pretty soon and one of the things the realty people said was I had to update some appliances in the house to increase the sale value. So once something goes wrong with one of them they get replaced. I really loved that dishwasher but it had to go. That's why I am offering it to the group here prior it going to the crusher. I picked up a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 this morning at Sears. Was on sale and got a 10% discount on floor display. It's already installed and running. No way will this one last as long as the Tag but I am not going to be here to see it. So anyone interested?
