So I may have a developing issue. Ran a cycle on Normal tonight. As it was performing the final drain it stopped and I kept hearing a clicking noise from the control dial. Most of the water was still in it. I advanced the dial to other cycles and just clicking. So I took all the dishes out and towel dried them. About 15 minutes later I tried again to start it and it worked fine filling and draining as it should. What could be going on?

Hey,

I was trying to look for a pic of the control panel of your dw.
I found this link about a model like yours clicking and not draining.
Me thinks maybe something stuck in the pump that corrected itself when the unit went into re-circulation mode or maybe a timer problem. But this is likely a microprocessor model.
Is it still acting up?

It's back to normal again. I hope it did fix itself as I hate the selection of portables out there if I need to get a new one. Not to mention that Maytag has no more portable dishwashers to be found unless they are coming out with a new model.

I'd look around the bottom of the sump and see if you find anything that could have gotten into the pump. You may need to take the wash arm & motor cover off to see.
I had toothpicks and those metal wire bread bag ties in ours. Removed them and all is well.
