I got the new glides and springs installed. What a learning experience!

I noticed after I replaced the belts that sometimes the machine rather than just glide to a start makes a thump when it starts either agitating or spinning?

With the machine on all fours when i squeeze the pump belt it goes all the way together without the motor even thinking about moving, so I am going to tighten it a little bit. I still have spray rinses before the tub is empty of water. If this doesnt fix it my thinkings are its just the way its made. Overall the machine seems to pick up spin better, run a little quieter.

I'm not an expert on this repair, but have owned a Maytag and the spraying before the tub is completely empty is not normal.  The tub should be empty and up to full spin speed (or very close to it) before the spray rinse begins.

It doesn't appear that anyone has suggested the pump itself may have an issue or that a blockage may be restricting the flow of water out of the tub.  Perhaps that's a long shot.

I think you're on the right track toward restoring proper operation, and the experts here should be able to guide you to a successful repair.
