Maytag Trans Seal where to find?

I have all the parts assembled for the trans rebuild on my Maytag A806, except the all important drive shaft o-ring, (Part # 210286) the reason for the rebuild in the first place.

Any idea where to find this item? I tried Ace hardware and many other places. I'd rather not pay over $20 from Maytag for a simple $.49 o-ring.

A place that works on hydraulic cylinders, jacks, and such, would have it.

See if this helps. You'll have to scroll down to reply # 46 on the O-rings from Ace. They have them at our stores here. They're stored in bulk in slide-out boxes, as I recall.

The Ace hardware I went to didn't have the size or the part # called for in the mentioned thread.

The next closest Ace is bit of drive, but I guess I'll give that a try.

You might try calling first. I think they were in yellow plastic boxes in the plumbing section.

You can still get those o-rings from an appliance outfit, but Whirlpool will rape you to the tune of at least $16 for one single neoprene seal.

The appliance parts dealers in my area are bigger thieves than Whirlpool.

First thing they do is look up the current MSRP, then add on a few bucks for good measure. Even though the part may have been sitting on the shelf gathering dust for years.

Take the old one to a hydraulics place, and have them match it up. Simple, inexpensive.
