Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Sounds like the repair guy is either unable or uninterested in fixing your machine.

I'd suggest grabbing another used machine in the meantime.

That A712 is still for sale, might be worth a call. Another possibility is swapping over the console controls, wire harness and motor from the A712 onto a nice A512 like this one:

Hi DigAPony,

I also got the impression that my repairman is not interested. I thought he should have at least checked the belts, etc. I am shopping for another machine. Something will turn up eventually.

I am not capable of changing the controls or the wiring harness or anything like that. I would have to find someone to do it for me.

Thanks for the link. That particular machine is far, far away so I need to find something closer. Not sure how I would get it home.

Thanks for your help.

Loud noise

I can stop that noise by changing the button from Gentle/Fast to Gentle/Slow. This is when it is agitating. Any ideas?

Update

You were right DigAPony. I had a different repairman here this morning. It is the timer. He knew right away what the trouble was. He thought the machine was in remarkably good shape considering it's age.

I will still watch for a 712 but at least it is not an emergency.

Thanks for your help everyone.
