I was lucky to get a working set of the Maytag washer/dryer. I believe the Model is A606. The dryer is gas. I tested both the washer and dryer and they both work great! They are both very clean. The only thing that needs to be replaced are the hoses for the washer. Take a look at my pictures.

I would like to try to sell these in the San Diego area. Does anyone know how much I could sell these for.

Thanks for your help.

It appears to be a CA606 & a CDG606. They would have most likely been made between 1970 and 1975. In all honesty I would say the value to a collector would be $100-$200 for the set. They are collectable but not exactly rare. Also, they are not top-of-the-line machines, they are one notch down. They most likely need mechanical or electrical work to keep them going if they are going to be used on a regular basis.

Hi Olivia,  it looks like they are harvest gold, yes?

Yes those are a 606 set.   Can you post the 2 letters from the end of the serial #'s on both the washer and dryer please?

As for value, honestly they are worth what a buyer is willing to pay.   That could be $100 for the pair, or maybe $200 if they are super clean and you find the right buyer, however that is VERY difficult to say.   But the majority of the public (who don't know any better) are going to see a 40 year old washer & dryer and turn up their noses.

I'm sure there will be someone out there who wants them!  Best of luck!

The serial number to the washer is 321582 HU

The serial number to the dryer is 583265 QF

Hi Olivia,

Question:  The color is Gold or Green?   They look gold to me but others are thinking they are green.  Thanks!

The washer was built in March of 1969 and the dryer was built 3 years later, March of 1972.

According to my 1974 Maytag Laundry Brochure, the officially named available colors were, Snow White, Cordoba Copper, California Gold and Spanish Avocado, all over a zinc coated steel cabinet and porcelain top.

Here are some Not so standard colors...

Kevin, those are so green, they should already be in your garage... LOL!

OMG! Alex, those are wonderful. Obviously, they have been refinished (?). What colors are they?

Tangerine and Turquoise Maytag, 2010

@RCD,
I found that pic on the web,
"Camilo Ontiveros’ washer and dryer (Tangerine and Turquoise Maytag, 2010. Found washer and dryer and automotive paint, 42 x 31 x 27 inches) reminds me of a prettified version of Whiting Tennis’ temporary installation of a handmade, wooden washer and dryer set in the weeds at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle. Ontiveros’ work can be found @ Steve Miller Contemporary"

"Does anyone know how much I could sell these for."

Last month a somewhat similar set was available here for $175, though the dryer was electric and of larger capacity.

I lost contact with the seller so I'm not sure if they are still around or not.

Is gas the predominant method of dryer hook-ups in your area? If not, you might be having as much trouble finding a buyer as an Eskimo for snow.

Here's a picture of the set for reference.
