Neat! Did you bring that over, or find it in Hawaii? Those handwritten prices seem a trifle high....usually the TOL was around $169. I think.

Did Maytag

IIRC Ironrite's claim to fame was they made the only ironer with two open ends. However the Maytag featured in the brochure above looks almost exactly like an Ironrite.

Maytag did have a least one other model of ironer, as one was on fleaBay several weeks back. While it was a cabinet model, the roller was the same traditional design found on all other irones, only one side open. IIRC, however this ironer had a roll lenght of 33" or so. This would have made it one of the if not the longest roller I've seen on vintage ironers. Indeed only Miele and Pfaff ironers (modern) sold today have rollers that long. The ironer sold for $$$ so perhaps the roller length was a factor.

Decisions, decisions, decisions ... I say "buy all three" and then you can really have some fun!! :-)

Those prices do seem high, but when you consider they were selling the Master for about $500 in 1983 when they stopped making them, may 'seem' about right.

Still wonder why the Commander never went over really well. I think they stopped making that one in 1968. I like the Commander that I have; it's the most quiet. It holds as much as the Master. It can get pretty "sloshy", however. The crown on the Master really keeps the water in the tub.
