I know I'm somewhat new here, for some. But for those I've met and for those I've yet to meet, I wanted to wish you the happiest of holidays and the best in the year to come.
Bri

Best of Christmas 2005 and New Year 2006 to All!

Hope at least some you are having *real* Christmas weather -- air conditioning happening over here. Ugh!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!!

May the year 2006 bring in MANY new vintage finds, and great luck for collectors!!

Merry Christmas to you and your family Bri.

As for Christmas weather, well we're having none of that here. No snow, no cold, temperatures been hovering in the 50's and sunny. Does me just fine.

soupy in Chicago

After almost two weeks of sub zero temps and snow, its in the mid-30's here now... it's been raining most of the day too...
Gotta get ready for church now.
Merry Christmas to all.
Be safe
Take care
and may all your wishes come true!

Heyheyhey it's Christmas Day! Hope everyone in the AW.ORG family is warm and well-fed. Merry Christmas from Minnesota, everyone.

Toggle---did you find Santa? And if so, are you going to be a gentleman and make him breakfast, LOL?

My best wishes to all the members for a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year. Hope Santa brought some good things to everyone.

Santa Speaks

Ho ho ho! I can't possibly put all those vintage washers on my sleigh at once, but I'll drop them all off one at a time over the year.

Let's see now.

To Robert (nice) a shiny new 50 Apex I've had in storage for a little housewife that suddenly turned NAUGHTY.

To Jason, your Kenmore 800 set is getting its final polish. My top elves are on it as we speak.

To Bri, you've been really nice. How about a pimped out powerchair with neon lights, and a stereo system.

To Venus, you've made top of the nice list. Hmmm.. You have everything I see... Tom has his Dodge Ram, and Austin has all his washers, but what to get the little lady. AH! Here we are, a new needle for your little record player and every classic rock record ever made.

To Browneyedgirl80, here's the spit rod to go in your little rotisserie.

To Toggle, (NAUGHTY), you've been NAUGHTY all year. But being that it's Christmas, well, a good man is hard to find but I think I can work something out. You are a ho ho ho!

Well, it's Christmas morn, I'm tired, cold, and wet. Mrs. Claus is waiting for me, and um... I feel a little naughty myself he he he, ho ho ho.

See you all next year!

Jon-- If you're referring to the mythical town full of bumbling Scandinavians from the American sitcom "The Golden Girls", I have come to believe I actually live there. You should hear the Norwegian accents around this place. Uff da!

Jasonl-- Toggle, naughty? Oh, certainly you must be mistaking him for someone else. Why, except for the inablility to resist innuendo, coupled with his outrageous ideas of hospitality when riding the NYC subway system, he's a virtual model of Boy Scoutian decorum, LOL! But I suppose I shouldn't roast the boy when he's not here to defend himself... HEY TOGGLE!! Put a Santa hat on it and come out and play!!

Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy, fufilling and wealthy, new year.

He who has his health and friends is wealthy. I am rich just from the good people I have met to date through this site. That, and a totally clean bill of health. WOOOO-HOOO.

My Christmas present came from God and was delievered by Doctors. Santa was busy. Niece number 5 checked in this year on 12/22. A beautiful healthy baby girl.

I am getting stock in Playtex SO FAST!

(Ho? HA! Te he he he. I am a nun. NONE of this and NONE of that. No one new on the horizon). I'm taking applications though. There will be a physical endurance exam.

--Meaning how many windows can you wash without bitching. LOL

Merry Christmas, Toggle and congrats on becoming an uncle for the 5th time. I became a great uncle for the 6th time in October and bought the little shaver a red Ramones T-shirt and black jeans for Christmas. I had no idea you could buy cool clothes for infants. I'm telling you, if babies were rational and self-cleaning, I'd get one, myself!

The real St. Nick

I was watching a Discovery special on the real Saint Nicholas. He was a Catholic saint that brought presents in the night (gold or food) to poor people. Hence the beginning of the whole Santa Claus thing. The Italians stole his remains from a tomb in Turkey and brought it to Italy where they go and pray over his remains and stuff like that.

Saint Nicholas

In the Netherlands we celebrate the feast of St. Nicholas. Instead of giving eachother gifts at Christmas, we do that at St. Nicholas, which is on December 5th, supposedly his birthday. But actually December 6th was the day he died.

The story is that St. Nicholas rides on his white horse over the roofs directing his Black Petes to distribute the gifts through the chimneys. The gifts are put in the shoes we set around the chimney. In the shoes there is supposed to be some hay or a carrot for the horse of St. Nicholas.

We celebrate this feast since the 13th century. Originally it was only done in the eastern countries. The figure of St. Nicholas is based on Nicholas of Myra, who cared very much for children. In 1087 his bones were brought from Myra to Bari, supposedly to protect them from the upcoming Islam.
