Very nice shape. Seen during a call. First thought was Youngstown but then saw the emblem. The glass sliding upper doors were awesome looking. Did Kelvinator just put their name on them or did they actually make them?

Kelvy....

....Was part of Nash Motors in the early '50s when these were made. In '54, Nash merged with Hudson to form American Motors. As a car company with an appliance division, AMC probably had lots of metal-forming capacity to spare for making these cabinets.

The design you show can be seen showcased in 1950's All About Eve, in the kitchen of Margo Channing's townhouse. You don't see the entire kitchen in the movie, but the cabinets and a '49 or '50 Kelvy fridge are on display. Here's a photo:

A company called

Morton made them, and sold them thru Kelvinator/Leonard dealers, Made in Chicago...I love them, they have lights built into the bottom of them, with a glass plate that lets the light illuminate the insides as well as the cabinet below!
