Anyone have any ideas, thoughts, comments on those new 'micro-fiber' cleaning cloths?
They have dishtowels which absorb more water.
And I have cleaning cloths that you only need to use with plain water. I also use a steam cleaner with those cloths for the bathrooms......absolutely no chemicals.
The only caution is that you have to wash without bleach or fabric softener, and some ask that you not put them in the dryer.
The ones I use are just great, and never streak.

Wait till you try them on the inside of the windshield(where that white stuff always tends to build a mysterious film).

And they work great cleaning the 'schmutz' and fingerprints off appliances without streaking.

And I am sure you know where I got mine.....Hint..Hint..Hint...(Three Letters~!)

I find they're good for what they are I suppose, never really thought they were all that wonderful, just as I'm not that impressed with the Mr. Clean Quick Erasers. I wouldn't spend more than 99 cents for one though.

Micro fiber cloths

If I can add my 2 cents worth, I LOVE them!!! I've gone through the first generation ones and recently bought a dozen at Target from the "car care" area. Brand name is "Varoom." Better than anything else.
I have a black smooth top range--no streaks, no dirt left. Great in the bathroom without cleaner, even better with cleaner. NO bleach-style cleaners. Great in the car, great on furniture for dusting--wring out til your arms drop--no dust left.
In the kitchen, after a greasy spill, put alittle water in the sink, add some dawn liquid and the cloth is like new.
I also use a microfiber mop head and have for years. I don't like having the old sponge head breeding until it's next use and the microfiber uses less water, is easier to launder...
I could go on. I'm SOLD!
Greg Lux Flairguy And I cleaned houses for years!!

I thought the microfiber cloths were cool when we were washing them at Roger's in Arizona. Although they do like to "stick" to things in the dryer and build up quite a bit of static electricity--almost got zapped a couple of times!

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works GREAT. I just wish they wouldn't be so flimsy and wear down so quickly...

I too am a big fan of the microfiber towels. Roger first introduced them to me in AZ and I have been hooked ever since. Great for dusting, and fantastic on windows!! I also got some at Target and the quality is great for the price. Terry

wonderful, just wonderful

I have never used anything which actuall cleaned my objectives (and eyeglasses) as well. No streaks and no lint.
You do have to use a bit of detergent to break the water tension for the very best cleaning - and the dryer (at least mine) kills them.
But I have a few heavy ones - for scrubbing tile floors - which have done great work for a couple of years.
They are also sold as "traveler's towels". Incredible, but true - they really do sop up an astonishing amount of water.
It is silly to spend more than .99 on them; I have never seen a difference in effectiveness (not the heavy duty floor ones, obviously, they are more expensive).

If they absorb more water than regular dishtowels, I'm going out and getting some.

Pete, you and I agree on so much, but I'm going to disagree with you over the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Those are the best! They get everything off of anything with just a wipe and no chemicals needed.

Maybe you need the M. Net Effaceur Magique...

Love them

I bought a large bag of them from BB&B for about $12. Different sizes, colors and thicknesses.

Someone from here told me not to use fabric softner in the rinse water. So I don't.

They work great!

Great for the Car

The only experience I have had with the micro fiber is a sponge type that I use on my car. It is great!

True Magic

I have used and enjoyed Magic Cloths. Iused them on windows, chrome and stainless. As long as you wash them as the manufacturer suggests, they are a valuable investment.
I manage a condo and Mr Clean Magic Erasers have made my life so much easier. They are great for cleaning marks off latex paint. I have beeen saved from repainting more than once because of Mr. Clean. Mr Clean Magic Eraser works really well on Stainless Appliances and also the white plastic around the dishwasher controls, refrigerator handles and oven doors. Especially well on the nasty pebbled finished of many GE appliances.

I have some microfiber terry towels for automotive use, as well as flatter kitchen towels.

I don't use them much, though, as I haven't found them to clean much better than regular towels with soap and water. Plus, I find the microfibers tend to painfully and annoyingly cling to hands that have any kind of roughness from gardening or shop work.

But maybe I'll give the microfiber kitchen towels a seocnd chance. Being less fluffy, they may be kinder to hands.

I read a report some time back that microfiber cloth cleaning of a kitchen counter removed more germs than most disinfecting cleaners. I have not looked for them in stores. Target automotive section the best source? Thanks, Tom
