Hello everyone! I wanted to share an intermittent drain issue I’ve been having with my washing machine.

When the issue occurs, it always starts during the rinse cycles and sometimes continues into the final spin. In some cases, the washer drains correctly between rinses and during the final rinse. Other times, the drain pump seems to run continuously but is unable to fully drain the water—there’s still a significant amount left in the drum.

There are also occasions where it drains partially, but after the final spin the drain pump keeps running nonstop until we open the door.

I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this intermittent draining behavior. Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

The machine uses a pressure sensor on the pcb under the lid to figure out the water level.
Out of interest, does it reach full speed for the spin cycle. It should only do this once it has figured out its essentially empty.
There is a hose from the top of the drum to the water intake drawer which can get gummed up but very often there is muck in the breather pipe from the drain pump. This runs from the small hole on the right inside of the drain pump, up the side and branches to the water intake for the detergent drawer and to the air-break (Anti-siphon device).

This man takes the side off and you can see the breather tube etc
