Hi all,

do any of my Aussie friends know about the Miele 4000 series? I have noticed that they have disappeared from stores and are no longer listed on the website.

Does anyone know if this line has been dropped for the purposes of simplification in a time of less spending, or if new models are on their way to the floor.

I have often thought about how nice it would be to have one of these but at over $3000 its a bit of a dream. To many everyday things to pay for...

W4000

Ash,

I was in the 'Appliance Gallery' on the weekend where they still have a set on the floor.

I did the 'oooh and ahhhhing' that is expected of someone from here and was advised that they have been discontinued. The very helpfull sales person/consultant didn't elaborate when I commented that it was a shame, but to be honest, maybe they are just too expensive to justify carrying and have a low take up rate.

The 4000 series in Australia was just the 3000 series with the 4000 series Facia and Detergent Drawer. We never had the Jumbo models here.

I'm assuming that they've dissappeared to make way for the 5xxx and 6xxx models which are 7kg and come with the traditional or the 4XXX style facia. If you're charging a premium price, you should get the large capacity.

I wonder if anyone knows how many Litres the new 7kg machines are. I think the 6.5kg machines are in the high 50's L if the 7kg ones are in the mid 60L range they'll be cavernous

Nathan I was looking the German Miele website and started to think the same thing. Maybe we will get the W6ooo models which would have much more showroom appeal. No doubt here they will be marketed as 7.5 kg.

Apparently, from an old Miele brochure, the 6.0kG drum is 57 litres.

Jumbo models 48XX are sold only in US/CA markets

Hi Nathan,
even here in europe the W4000 are the same size of the W3000
By the way here in IT the W3825 (6kg) has been discontinued and now there is the W 3855 (6.5kg). The same is happening to the W4000

Have just found on the british website the W 1756, an unusual W1000 with a stainless steel door instead of polycarbonate
