Ok. Here comes a load of videos of the Miele W423. This time without oversudsing. The program selected was 60 celsius Cotton short wash.

The pump is still broken in the machine so the lint filter must be removed every time it should drain.

I think this machine is from 1979-81. The motor has a few problems when it should spin.

First video. Loading and start

By some reason the machine doesnt spin until after the fifth rinse. We did a spin between first and second rinse. Manually forwarded the program timer to final spin.

Begin of spin. Here we see something is wrong with the timer or the motor. Watch and listen at 0.14-0.16 and 1.24-1.35.

Many times the machine does like it did at 1.24-1.35 and abort the spin.

The question is: could it be the capicators that doesnt give the motor enough energy? Or is it something in the timer that fail?

Hi Fredriksam

If the pulsing is happening as the timer advances through the graduated Spin section of the timer dial, then there is no issue, it just happens as the timer passes through that section.

I've had two timers on my W423 and both have done exactly the same thing.

Graduated Spin

Ahh ok. That explains it. Strange the machine started the first spin with the drum still. Should it do that?

What about when the spin motor hum but doesnt engage properly at 1.24-1.35 or should it do that?

I saw that as a fault.
