Hi

My machine is failing to drain and spin at the moment, I have cleaned what I think is the filter but still blocked. I don't want to do too much without being clearer what exactly to do.

...the machine can be drained by going into the compartment at the front, so I guess the problem is after this. Not sure how to get beyond removing the cap at the bottom and cleaning it. I have done this but the blockage seems to be a bit further on.

Any tips on flushing through what is probably a build up of dog hair and belly button fluff!

Any help appreciated

Miele

Welcome to the club,

Surprisingly to hear but Miele washing machines are quite robust and have been cleaning the great unwashed for many decades, I`m sure a little detritus as stated above would not fail to stop a Miele in action...

Questions:

How long have you owned the Miele Washing Machine?

What is the Model Number?

Could it be on a "Spin Delay" programme, which keeps the clothes in the water until ready to spin..

When you opened the drain port cover how much water came out? a little or what was in the drum?

Just trying to determine if the motor has broken and needs replacing or you have a blockage in your pipework?

Thanks - the model is W754S Miele.

I did manage to drain it thru the rubber pipe inside the cover at the front/bottom so I can assume it is draining from the drum as far as the pump. I am worried the pump has eith gone or is blocked.

I will lift it up and investigate it tonight. Joy.

Thanks for your replies.
The cycle stops at the end of the wash and does not drain, so I guess there has been no pump noise.

The impeller behind the cover and fluff catcher does turn easily.

I get the impression the pump has died ...?

Thanks folks, pulled an elastic band out from round the impeller, hooked a few coins out of crannies, put back together and a hot wash later all working well again.

Glad I didn't get carried away and try to replace the pump!

See you in a few years!

Joy : )

My Washer

Hi Mike hope your well.

I am using my Hotpoint 1509 and Miele W754S. They both connected and spoilt for choice. Love the 1509 and its hot fill and does not take long to complete a load.

Such great vintage machines. Hows the Servis MK72.

Take care.

Miele Dryer

Hi Stephen.

That dryer would just look perfect next to my Miele washer. Won,t sleep tonight, lol.

Hows the toploader Stephen.

toploader

Hi Paul

It would look great - they say its not working but quite often it is a simple repair that is needed.

The top loader is all sorted. I changed all the seals and noticed that there was some pitting on the support tube. It must have been leaking for some time to do this but several turns of PTFE tape have helped it make a good seal with the bellows seal. The only problem I have is with the interlock - it was really difficult to open the lid so I removed the pin which means you can open it when it is spinning but the brake comes on straight away so not really a problem. I will look at it again at some point to fix it properly. Unfortunately I have to keep it in the shed at the moment as trying to sell the house so not playing :(

Mike - the tap connector is an original one that came with my Mums hotpoint 1504 and was before they used the screwed connections for the hoses. The chain isn't as long as it used to be but I can remember her wrapping cloths round them as well to stop water spraying everywhere!! It didn't take her long to get it plumbed in properly!!

Cheers
Stephen
