An undercounter model like that looks like it came from a very nice European kitchen.

I think it is actually is European by design. Don't know where it was made, but it's definitely a Zanussi clone. My grandparents had one like this in white. The interior was the same with the manual defrost button in the center of the thermostat. The only difference is that on the door handle it said Zanussi Export IIRC.

Would be entirely logical that Sears sourced this from them. They were certainly large/prominent enough to specify interior plastics to match the colors of that year.

IIRC my grandparents bought their fridge in the late 60's or early 70's. It looks like this model has the molded in the door eggholders in the middle of the door too.

Biggest disadvantage of this fridge was that the top didn't overlap the door, so crumbs would fall on top of the door seal and get stuck in the seams.
