Mister Steamy Anyone?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Never used one.

It seems similar to the result of using a vintage Frigidaire Filtrator or Filtramatic dryer. I hope I spelled that right.

The advertisement said it will give professional results. Personally, I don't see how that's possible without starch, but then again I'm a bit old fashioned. Also, I tend to prefer my starch somewhere between "heavy" and "oppressive."

Time to confess

I am kind of tempted with this thing. Not real happy with Downy's April Fresh scent anymore since it changed and not wild about any other softeners as they are too heavily perfumed. I love lemon and citrus scented anything so was considering adding a few drops of lemongrass essential oil to unscented Downy. The problem is that the oil would not really dissolve which could stain clothes. Couldn't I put all that into Mr. Steamy because the bouncing around would help mix up the oil into the softener or water that I would fill it with? A gimmick for sure, but this might work!

Consumer Reports Agrees

I had never heard of Mr. Steamy until I received my new Consumer Reports last week. And it echoed the same advice as our dear Laundress, except the magazine used wet towels to help "steam out" wrinkles from permanent press men's dress shirts. And for the 20 dollar price of Mr. Steamy, you can buy several very nice towels--and use them for more than steaming your clothes in the dryer.

I remember back in the 50's & 60's my mother had a sprinkler cap that would fit on a Coke bottle. She use it for dampening the clothes before ironing.

I haven't seen one of those sprinkler caps for years.

Allen i got this one in the late eigty's at a yard sell...
50 cents, a Tab bottle no less love the styleing on the glass.
My grandmother was a batch ironer could do 12 shirts at a time.
None stop.

As laundress indacated...I just use a spray bottle and wet the clothes only for polo style shirts, jeans, dress paints that got a little wrinkled for 10 min on mediuem heat in a Bosch dryer which is really a low temp it feels to me for a touch up or running late somewhere.
But i do iron.

I really don't want to hear that thing clunken around in the dryer ...No thanks.. I will try the damp clothe method next time.

I use either a wet hand towel or wet pillow case. I've also sprayed the clothes with with water and dry for about 30 minutes on medium or low. Works perfect every time.
