Mitzi Gaynor's 1970's Appliances

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

How many appliances can you spot and brand?

Did you notice Mitzi's small appliances as well as her major ones?

I like the built-in oven that has a hand in it that hands you a lighted and frosted cake!! Wish I could find one of those.

Well, the Countertop Oven is a Presto.

And the Dishwasher is PROBABLY a Tappan.

The Washer and Dryer are DEFINITELY Speed Queens.

I just don't what the Cooktop, Wall Oven and Refrigerator are. Can someone possibly clue me in on these??

Oh, Mitzi was sexy by the way. She doesn't count too, does she (LOL)??

Wow, Mitzi! I bet husbands everywhere wished their wives looked like that in the kitchen.

Two things: I want an oven that hands its content to me!
When did Speed Queen change over from a left-opening lid to one that opened back?

post ReversaJet? and more MItzi

If the dishwasher is a Tappan, being a 1974 model approx. it was long after Tappan crapped out on quality and quite making the ReversaJet. I think the oven may have been modified by the set designers as the control panel is below the oven and detached.

(As an aside, if you like Mitzi, watch the attached video. It was her performance of "Georgy Girl" performed at the 1967 Acadamy Awards. It is noted for holding the record for the longest applause of any performance at the Awards ceremony. Mitzi is still doing performances and has her own traveling show.)

I too was wondering about the dishwasher.  Tappan, another WCI-product product--Gibson?  D&M?  A strange button layout.  A bit unusual double oven windows.

Brent-- yes! Those legs!! It's hard for one to keep their eyes on the appliances.

I saw her show in Dayton, Ohio around 1982. She was fifty or fifty one then and was still kicking just as high and really didn't look too much older than in the video.

Alex--I wonder the same thing. It doesn't seem right. Unfortunately, the human body wears out faster than automatic washers. And we are a little harder to repair. lol

On the bright side, Mitzi still has a traveling show even today at age 82. From what I hear she doesn't dance much but sings and has a humorous monologue that keeps the audience rolling in laughter. (Debbie Reynolds who is the same age, also still has a show, as well and is equally funny.)
