I'm looking into my first wringer washer. This one's $75, but it looks too far gone to refurbish...

A couple of things to check...
I'd make an offer based on the following:
* when it's running, listen for unusual sounds indicating wear to motor or power unit (gear box)
* look for signs of oil leakage
* condition of rubber wringer rolls
* apply wringer tension and release to check functionality
* check drain spigot: is it functional or corroded. These can be a real trouble spot.
The machine actually looks to be in not bad shape - love that Bakelite agitator!
