Monkey Wards Wash & Dry Rockford IL

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think I have to agree with Ken on this one. That washer looks like a Westinghouse machine. And maybe if they took all the crap off of the dryer we could tell for sure since they could possibly be a set.

Now as far as this being an estate sale and the other items---- How's about a frozen turkey and some packs of chicken, a loaf or two of bread? OOPS...don't forget the weenies!!! LMAO
Let's get real people if your selling the freezer- TAKE THE DAMN FOOD OUT OF IT AND THAW OUT THE FREEZER!
I could have said some other things as well but I'm sure everyone will understand where I'm coming from on this. ;)

They are a set - panels match.  The 1978 Wards catalog shows this exact pair which would make it post-WCI takeover of the Westinghouse appliance division.  You likely wouldn't be able to tell much difference opening the lid though, they looked just like the earlier Westy machines.  IIRC, the dryers even had the Cross-Vane tumbling drum design.  I remember comparing the tumbling with a neighbor's Westy dryer and our GE and could find no difference in movement while the machine was running.

I don't have enough Wards catalogs to know for sure, but it was around this time (late 70's) that Wards began sourcing some of their appliances from WCI, most notably their dishwasher line was completely WCI after the Frigidaire division was sold to WCI in '79.
