I missed a couple of steps here... Water and vanilla are beaten into the egg-sugar mixture, then the sifted flour and cocoa mixture are blended in. I used the mixer to fold in the flour, which I usually do when I use one of the Sunbeams for a sponge-type cake.
I used the orange filling as suggested in the recipe and put a coat of chocolate icing on it. It turned out wonderfully and Hubby hardly noticed when I told him about the next mid-West things that will soon be joining the collection...
Or Jelly Rolls as they are referred to in the South...no matter what the filling, are wonderful and fairly easy to make..this looks great, I need to make one, its been years!
