Great pics, Rich. That Hamilton dryer is neat...I love how they kept the original square-window door yet streamlined it a bit.

In that last picture, I see a ton of Amanatags and Atlantis Norgetags.

Why do you hate gas dryers? I've always wanted one, especially now that Connecticut electric rates are usurous.

Here in King Co. WA, the BIG appliance recycler company has absolutely zero interest in helping one out in regards to these vintage machines. I've talked to them, they remind me of the cast from Goodfellas.

Thanks for the pics, Rich. That is a cool-looking Hamilton dryer. Did Hamilton even make electric dryers? I saw a lot of Hamilton dryers growing up and I think all were gas. I thought that was the only kind they mde.

The reason you see so many Hamilton gas dryers is that in many places the gas utility company sold them, often in places where that was the only Hamilton appliance ever seen.

I love gas dryers. The element of fire with the wet clothes is just more interesting to me, primival and progressive at the same time. Same goes for cooking, I just gotta see the flame. It costs twice as much to make heat with electricity than gas in my area. Gas is used to make electricity to begin with, in many power plants. Seems dumb to by the more expesnive by product to accomplish the same task when/where it is readly available.
