Most honey sold in U.S. stores fails to meet standards

Kroger and some other stores in the Cincinnati area sell Mexican Coca-Cola, but it's in the international foods aisle, not with the other sodas. I buy it every once in a while.

For the last couple years, I've been buying the Faygo (cane sugar sweetened) in the glass bottles. I usually get the orange, but sometimes root beer or grape. This comes as a carton of six 12 oz. bottles for about $5, sometimes on sale for less than $4. I'm satisfied after drinking one of these, unlike the HFCS sweenteneed pop, which I always seem to want another right away.

After reading this I was inspired to search for local honey and found this! I can't believe the instructions on the site......That to call and if they aren't home they will leave the honey on the porch! And there will be a change jar if you need to make change.

Wow! That's straight out of the 1940's. Talk about trusting people! If they tried that here in Houston, they'd be missing their honey, change jar and most likely their television, stereo and any jewelry that may be around the house.

I bet at night they'd even leave the porch light on for you.

Side Story:

The past 4 days I overhauled the gas light in front of our house. The paint was peeling and the poor thing looked old. So I put turned the gas off, wirebrushed & sanded the pole and light, reprimed the whole thing and then put on three layers of black high temp paint on it. The whole process took 4 days. After the first night two neighbors called and wanted to know why the light isn't on. They said they liked it because it lit up the driverways and really lights up the area.
On the third day a neighbor three doors down came and asked us why it was out.

I wonder if perhaps their thinking is that most people looking for RAW honey aren't going to be criminals?
