My goodness!

Why, that's hardly a load at all in that dishwasher! Bob would definitely not approve!
Sometimes when I only have half a load like that, I'll double up with a friend and we'll share a load. Saves water and detergent.
Plus, it means we're spiritually bonded for the length of the Soak 'N Scrub cycle!

LOL!! Veg, you are tooooo much!! LOL!! Are you sure Lady Beth Ann didn't let the dye on too long honey??

Veg-- If it helps, I did use the SHORT WASH cycle, which I think saves at least one change of water. I do a lot of half-loads at home, which is why I liked the upper-or-lower rack half-load option on my former DW, the Frigidaire. However, the short cycle on my Maytag uses only 3 changes of water and 20 minutes of electricity, which doesn't seem too bad. I think I'd use at least that much water hand-washing them.

I think I'm gonna hafta start using the Candlewood suites whenever I travel, that place is great! I've been using StudioPlus / Extended stay motel, which comes with a kitchenette, but they are hardly anywhere near as equipped. They don't have a disposer or a dishwasher, but they do have a full-size range with oven. I do like the fact that they provide you with amenities, like dishwashing soap, and the popcorn. They've got some nice washers in the washroom too. Are those Speed Queens? The dual action agitator looks actually like a Whirlpool, but the SS tub looks like a S.Q.

WOW! That hotel room almost seems like an APARTMENT!Never seen dishwashers or disposals and microwaves in a hotel room.Did they give you dishes to use and wash in the dishwasher?-or were those your own?

All the dishes/pots & pans/utensils are provided with the room. I got one of these rooms several months ago for a friend who was visiting from out-of-state, and I liked it so much, I decided to try one myself. You also get a VCR/DVD player and a CD-player/clock radio. Well worth the $80.

I'm trying out a full suite (I stayed in a studio suite---really just one room) when I go to the Guthrie Theater to see "The Great Gatsby" in a couple of weeks. I enjoy staying with friends in Mpls, but getting a motel room makes it feel more like a mini-vacation. I used to have a studio apt. there, but I don't go to the city every weekend like I used to. Now that I have a yard and garden to care for, I'm a little more of a homebody.

The washers/dryers in the laundry room are GE.
