Hi! Eugene, might you happen to have the Model Numbers of the GE Washer and Dryer that you had for use while staying there? Did the Dryer have a Stainless Steel Drum, to go along with the Stainless Steel Tub in the Washer?

I would gratefully appreciate the info if you have it available for not only myself "FYI" but for anyone else that might be curious to know the Models that were there.

Interesting control panel on the washer.-pretty neat they provide dishes-wonder how many "walk" with the guests?And pretty neat they provide a VHS-DVD player with the tV-do they rent movies there for you to play on those machines?One hotel I wnet to rented movies-but YOU had to provide the player.I suppose for those folks that have "walkman" movie players or those with laptops that have players in them.At one of the airports they rented DVD movies for folks who were riding on the airliners-you could play them on your own machine or one you "rent" from the movie rental-you turned in the movies and player at the next airport or at any Blockbuster" store-beleive that was who the company was.May have been at Charlette,NC-was trying to remember.I beleive there was one at Denvers airport as well.

The two saucepans in the dw look like Paderno Cookware from Italy. In that fabulous book A Cook's Catalogue edited by James Beard and published in 1975, Paderno pans were universally praised, but noted as being very expensive. The handle is so distinctive, but who would put cookware like that in a motel apartment?

When we went to the Kitchen & Bath International Show in Whorelando, we stayed in a nice condo with WP appliances, including a standard capacity MOL washer and dryer. We did lots of laundry, including the bathroom rugs that probably had never been washed by anyone.

I don't have model numbers for the washers or dryers. I didn't have any laundry to do---although I thought I'd run all the towels through, just to do a load, but didn't have time. I honestly can't remember if the dryers had SS drums. They are commercial machines (have coin meters), but you just bypass them. The dryers were the built-in stacked type. I'll take more laundry pics when I stay there again in 2 weeks. I'll take photos of it in operation, too. Sorry, no video cam.

Tom: I have a 1975 copy of the "Cooks Catalog"my Mom had one as well.Found the one I have in a "free" bookbox at a used bookstore.Also have the newer edition.The older one is better.

Rex, they had originally planned to update it each year or two, but the project was too massive. You are right, the second one about ethnic cooking tools was not as interesting.
One day the Cooks Catalog will be helpful for historians doing research. I think I bought mine as a remainder at a greatly reduced price.

Hi Scott-- The Candlewood Suites is technically in Richfield, but it's right off 494 at the Lyndale Ave. exit. You may recall there is a strip mall there with a Borders Books, a Best Buy and a Don Pablo's Mexican restaurant. It's just a couple blocks east of that.

I know that people go to motels for sex and sometimes take pictures or even make movies of the activity, but this must be a first; going to a motel for the appliances and taking pictures. I love being with people whose priorities reflect what is really important.
