another small appliance thread:)-this one french Moulinex(also seen some from
spain and brazil)Seems this company mostly sold motorized small appliances;mixers,
blenders,choppers,etc.I have a few;electric knife,blender,and several"oscar"small
food choppers-some of the oscars with U.S. brands on them, but made in france.
late '60s-mid'90s seems to be the era for moulinex in the U.S.

Big fan of retro Moulinex here.

My mum still has her Moulinex stand mixer bought as a wedding present in 1982 and still uses it regularly.

I have a few Moulinex smalls including some of their fab electric knives. Really well made imo and just keep going.

Moulinex was the name brand of food processor my wife's best friend had.  The one I saw was about 20y/o at the time.  That was about 1996, and it bit the dust this past November.

For years I had a Moulinex coffee grinder. It was the best designed grinder I've ever had, very handsome, easy to use, easy to clean and didn't tend to leak the grounds around like most other grinders when you removed the top. It eventually wore out but I still miss it! I believe their slogan in France was "Libre la Femme" or something very similar (correct me if I spelled it wrong). Very sexist but funny in a retro way.

My Mom had gotten for Xmas one year.....LaMachine by Moulinex.......it was basically a food processor, slicer, dicer, chopper, and a grinder attachment, used mainly to grind coffee..........

what she could have really used was the blender attachment, which came out after this purchase, but not available as an option to her model....

very powerful machine

Moulinex appliances were very popular in the UK, especially countertop machines like mixers and liquidisers, and also the hair dryers, although some of the early 60s products had some shortcomings in safety - ISTR the early hair dryers could burst into flames if the motor stopped!

The picture below is from a french language blog, think this is the one you meant Hydraulique! I love the name of the Robot Marie, and its pan scrubber mode!

Another ad from the same site - is that a very basic washing machine in the centre?

Oh Moulinex is not dead, it's part of the "Groupe SEB" but it's all Chinese made and crappy quality, a big do-not-buy for me!
I only get Kenwood or De Longhi that sadly is partly chinese made too now but of better quality!

Moulinex? Mais Oui

Made some great products back in their day, quite allot of which can be still found chugging away. Lots on eBay and other places still NIB.

Moulinex was one of the first to sell "counter-top" convection ovens in the USA (Rival, Maxim, Faberware were some of the others), and by all accounts it worked a treat.

Aah Moulinex

My nana has a 60's/70's orange/cream/brown set which includes a food processor, mincemeater, whisk. We have the blender. Very good quality, still going strong after around 40 years old, apart from a crack in the jug which leaks. If anyone could tell me where to get the replacement jug I would be very grateful.

You can still get some new Moulinex appliances, here in the UK anyway.

Also, an auntie has a Moulinex Brownie microwave I think it is.

Thanks

Jacob

Still using my old Moulinex food processor which I bought new god knows when but at least 30 years ago. And I found this little Moulinex coffee grinder awhile back somewhere... the little chrome one on the left.

Our first food processor was a Moulinex La Machine II which was, surprise, surprise, made in the USA.  Eventually they were labeled Moulinex Regal and finally just Regal (with a white body and chromed plastic power button).  Then, nothing.

La Machine

Mine was similar to the photo in Joeekaitis' post. A neighbor gave it to me in the 1980s because she wasn't using it. Great thing, and didn't take up a lot of room on the counter so it was handy to use often. It quit finally around 2000, replaced with a Cuisinart. Good performance from the replacement but kind of clunky to operate. I used to use the LaMachine all the time to knead bread dough; it did a great job as long as you did a couple batches of dough broken up into small balls. (Eek, did I just say that!)

@launderess: I never knew Mother's/Mothers' Day was observed en France! Bonne annee a vous (sorry, no diacritical marks options on my laptop).
