Bugs

The only downside is the bugs. I'm forever battling ants (thanks for the advice and help with that, Greg), and I have discovered that there are two kinds of spiders--big, and scary. Some kinds are both. All types are plentiful.

Here's a non-scary daddy longlegs that certainly qualifies as big (thumb included for scale):

Yard and stuff

We have plants, and a yard, and a deck. The deck is as big as the living room, which is nice, but the building inspector fell through it when checking it out (which is not nice). That'll be a project for the spring; we'll let it rot this winter. (One less season of ice and snow for the new decking to put up with.)

I'm good with the mower and weedwhacker so far...let's see if I can keep everything alive! :-)

Very nice Nate!! Welcome home!!
You will have to get a HUGE collection started to fill that basement by winter! Just stay away from the 1961 Kenmores, and you will be fine!<:

Wow Nate a big huge congratulations is on order. That basement is totally FABULOUS! Oh I can see it fill up with vintage washers. You need a Unimatic next. Hey I have an IDEA, ***evil smile***. You'll see.

I just used Robert's Samantha advise, and wrinkled my nose!

Ummmmm, you mean *twitched* nose thank you, we use moisturizer to prevent wrinkles (or the wrinkles away cycle in the Filtrator) lol.

Nate thanks so much for sharing the adventures of your move with us. The new home looks fantastic and I can just see that basement when you have done a few more wiggles of your nose!! Terry

Excellent pictures! Thanks for sharing your big move to the Mighty Prairie with us!

Just add some gay... and it works every time ;-) Everything looks great - you guys have some great accessories (the secret to house-happiness!) but it looks like you need more outlets - another trip to Homo Depot.

Can't wait to see you Friday!

Nate the house is beautiful. And the basement!!! I'm glad y'all made it safe and sound. I love your livingroom furniture, it looks so beary beary snuggly and comfortable and inviting!!!

Great pics and wishing you well in your new house. The grass looks really green for this time of year. Either people there still water their lawns or there's been lots of rain. I only notice because I'm known on my street as having the lushest, the greenest velvetiest lawn. LOL

Great news Nate, and a wonderful picture show! Your basement is just BEGGING for a few rows of washers and dryers. Eventually they'll follow you home in the deVille, instead of you going and hunting for them.

Congrats!

Ben

Hi Nate. Congratulations on your new home. Isn't is great to have a basement? Something I have missed since I left
New York. I am sure you can picture plenty of washers in the
basement with just a little plumbing and electrical work.
Will call you after you have a chance to settle in.

Ross

Oh Nate!

You were so close; I woulda showed you mines if youda
showed me yours. Now we'll have to cross half the US to
see each others collections. It looks like you have a lovely new home, and a beautiful Red Ford. I'll be coming for Hot Buttered Bear Claws soon!!!!
