Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Can't wait to get my Speed Queen washer next Thursday, like a kid in a candy shop. A question for you Speed Queen experts how do i by pass the lid switch so it will run with the lid open? Holiday blessings to one and all.

if its an Alliance machine.....

make sure your lid is closed.....

from the back of the machine, just above the drain hose....grab a clothes pin, and clip on as shown,....takes only seconds to put on, or take off....

easy as pie!

let us know how you make out....

yours may be a Raytheon unit....in which case you would have to take the front panel off, the lid switch is located in the upper right corner......you can tape these down to work....but this is also your out of balance switch...

rayathon unit

my washer does have a tag on it that says rayathon division, so how do i access the lid switch? If I take an agitator of my seventies amana will that fit my Speed Queen. wringer washer was built by Speed Queen.

in my 1984 marathons,i was able to just unplug a couple wires to the lid switch behind the control panel and plug them together to operate lid up,but this did disable the out-of-balance switch as that works with the lid switch on an early marathon.

Thank you Yogitunes and AW.ORG.....

I had a bit of anxiety, wondering how the heck I was going to see her in action. Sure thing, a simple clip of a clothes pin and saw some beautiful rollover!

I am so greatful for all of the enjoyment and useful information this site brings to me......

Thank you, jimmyb
