Surfing Craigslist I found a GE 40" range for 75.00 It looked pretty good in the photo but Its hard to tell sometimes what the condition really is. We were going by on the way to Nashville but we missed the party selling it and had to make another trip. I thought it looked great and they said they had been using it until their kitchen remodel. Well when I got it home and did alittle cleaning I decided the original owner must have been clean to a fault because It had very litle for me to clean. The chrome is perfect and the only issue is with the clock, which I`ll check out one rainy day.It will be moved to the center of our cabinets and my frige will end up in this spot. Just hope this dos`nt call for a whole kitchen remodle. I would also like to find a hood big enough for it. I`m so glad they didnt push it to the curb. :)

Beautiful!

The is a lovely range. I love all that extra space between the burners. I don't care too much electric stoves, but I could learn to love that one!

WOW!!!

I love that range. When you turn the control lights on and the kitchen lights down/off the look is very dramatic :-)

Enjoy many good meals prepared with it!!

Your right Petek, But I believe Vent-A-Hood made one as pictured in AW member Austinado`s kitchen below.

Very Nice!!! Mr Mitchell

And exquisitly priced too boot. If you check your Habitat
for Humanity Restores it is possible to find a 40" range hood.
I don't think they were real common. The most recent one I saw
was a Stainless Unit and I can't recall if it was a Thermador,
but it was designed specifically for one of those long narrow
Thermador surface units. There are other styles to be had, it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time!!!

40" Range Hood

They were made back in the day; we had one over our '49 Frigidaire 40" range. Ours was Kenmore, in copper-coloured anodised aluminium. It dated from a 1959 remodelling necessitated by a fire.

Nutone make them now, in white, black, bisque, and stainless. For some reason, they're 42" wide now, but they fit your range. Different models are available, from basic to fancy. Any Home Depot or Lowe's can help you. Here's a link to a Plumber's Surplus page that shows the basic Broan/Nutone model in white; I am not inclined to navigate Home Depot's dreadful website to find it there, sorry! You should be able to get this model most anywhere for $75-100. A little pic is below.
